Harvey & Lauren- The Dunkenhalgh Hotel - Clayton le Moors - Wedding Photography
Wedding - August 26th, 2022
Well. Our second wedding went as well as our first. A 2 venue affair, with the ceremony taking place at the Dunkenhalgh Hotel and the celebration at the Avenue Hotel.
We arrived at 10:00, and after meeting, the bride and her bridal team got started with some great bridal prep shots. Details followed with shots of wedding shoes, wedding dress, wedding rings and others, forming part of the beginning of the gallery.
With the weather being superb we got some lovely exterior shots of the venue along with some of the wedding room itself.
The groom and his team arrived and we immediately got some work done with him and his team with ties and flowers being the centre of attention here. We always enjoy a few shots with the guys interacting and try to capture this moment from their point of view. No posing here just capturing events as they unfold.
The bridal team were finished with their preparations so it was time now for their shots along with the bride’s mum and dad which is, in my opinion, the most emotional of shots on the day. We simply have to get this shot. This part of the day I was particularly happy with. The shots here really stood out in the gallery.
The wedding was a simple affair yet we managed to capture many intimate and romantic moments as the couple made their vows. Another part of the day we enjoy is the confetti shot and this allows the guests to make their way into the shots before the candid’s later in the day. Again we didn’t fail here and shot some really stunning and well timed shots.
We had prior to the day scouted the venue substantially and were really happy with the choice of locations for group portraits with family and close friends and also for the couple portraits with the fountain particularly playing a bit part here. This was the final section at the Dunkenhalgh hotel so we made our way briskly to the Avenue Hotel to wait eagerly for the Rolls Royce which the couple had hired.
After meeting an ex-Premier League footballer and convincing him to join in with some shots we welcomed the newly married couple with some fantastic arrival shots.
Candid’s and fun shots then formed the basis of our work for the next hour or so before the wedding breakfast commenced at which point we also took a welcome break.
A few large group shots after the meal and some final candids were done before the all-important speeches which were shot in less than adequate lighting conditions. Given that I was really pleased with how these came out. They captured the fun and emotion of the speeches excellently.
The cake cutting and first dance finished the night off really nicely and I was particularly pleased with these pictures especially with the bride dancing with her dad. Super emotional.
That completed our second wedding. We are starting to build a list of jobs now. If you’re looking to hire a photographer for your wedding in 2022 please do get in touch. We would be happy to provide you with a great deal. Our diary is also open for 2023 and 2024.
Cheers
